Whether you’re a year-round local or just in the area for a vacation, you’re bound to wonder at some point, “What’s for dinner?” It’s a good question, but (obviously) grabbing something to eat isn’t just for sunset after a day on the water. Below we’re highlighting three local spots not too far from the marina to keep you covered and full all day long.

And who knows? Stay long enough for dessert and you might run into just the person with all the best hidden fishing spots.

Breakfast: D’s Breakfast and Burgers

423 10th Ave W, Palmetto, FL 34211

Open for the early birds, D’s is just west of the marina and just a few blocks away from the river. From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can stop by for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner, from country-style skillet breakfasts and traditional house-special plates to half-pound burgers, specialty sandwiches, and D’s “mighty melts.” (And don’t worry–D’s also has a few items on the kids menu from open to close!)

Lunch: Joey D’s Pizza

945 10th St. E, Palmetto, FL 34211

Headed in for a break, or getting a later start to your day on the water, and just looking for some classic Chicago-style deep dish? From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Joey D’s has it covered, serving up not only “world famous Chicago pizza” but subs, pastas, Chicago-style hot dogs, and even an extensive menu of salads for some lighter fare. Top it off with dessert of tiramisu, chocolate cake, or handmade cannoli, and you’ll be ready for the rest of the day in no time.

Dinner: Riverhouse Waterfront Restaurant

995 Riverside Drive, Palmetto, FL 34221

We’ve recommended the Riverhouse before on the blog, but with its expansive menu of craft entrees, seafood, and shareables–not to mention the cocktail menu and espresso bar–it’s an excellent choice for winding down into your evening. The Riverhouse boasts daily specials, multiple floors of dinner service, and even private event space, all with a gorgeous waterfront view and convenient location just west of the marina. And if you’re not quite ready to quiet down for the night, the Snook Deck’s patio bar sports lighter fare every day and live music on the weekends.
